Veggie Burger Recipe For The Excalibur Dehydrator

Veggie Burger Recipe
Veggie Burger Recipe - For the Labor Day weekend we were invited to a cook out. Without a doubt we would be tempted by the smell of grilled animal flesh (yes we still like the smell of grilled burgers). We needed to be prepared. So I decided it was time to take offensive action and create a fabulous dehydrated veggie burger, one so good that even the die hard carnivores at the picnic would wonder what they ever liked about ground cow. The results, if I do say so myself, were fantastic. Check it out below.

Veggie Burger Recipe

Preparation time excluding soaking nuts: 15 minutes

Sprout 1 cup wheat berries
1 ½ stalks celery
½ cup sweet onion
½ med carrot
½ cup soaked sunflower seeds
2/3 cup soaked walnuts
1 ½ tablespoons Bragg’s aminos
½ teaspoon herbamare

Put all the ingredients in the Vita-Mix blender and turn to low. Using the tamper, push all the ingredients down into the blades and grind to desired consistency.

Next, dump the mixture out into a bowl and form into patties on teflex sheets.

Dehydrate on high for 1 hour then reduce the temperature to 105 and cook for another few hours. Make sure you turn your burgers over half way through the dehydration process. This recipe makes 6 large patties.

These veggie burgers would be great on their own dressed with tomato lettuce and onion or with a side of coleslaw. We eat them with Food for Life brand sprouted wheat hamburger rolls.

To eat as leftovers, simply warm in the dehydrator and enjoy.
