Drinking a V8 Juice is not at all like juicing. The Campbell's company would have you believe that drinking V8 is just like juicing fresh carrots and other vegetables from your Champion Juicer.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
Nothing, and I mean nothing, can replace the fresh, nutritious enzyme rich juice you get from juicing carrots and other vegetables in your juicer. V8 is a concoction made from processed (heated) juice concentrate or reconstituted vegetable juice with added salt (why does Campbell's add salt?) and "natural flavorings." Natural flavorings are nothing more than repackaged MSG.
Here are the ingredients of a can of V8 Juice straight from the label:
Tomato Juice from Concentrate (Water, Tomato Paste), Reconstituted Vegetable Juice Blend (Water and Concentrated Juices of Carrots, Celery, Beets, Parsley, Lettuce, Watercress, Spinach), Lemon Juice from Concentrate (Water, Lemon Juice Concentrate), Salt, Natural Flavoring, Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid), Citric Acid.
There isn't any packaged juice that will replace fresh natural juice straight from a mix of carrots, apples, celery and whatever else you choose to mix in your juicing beverage. Once juice is cooked above 118 degrees F or processed, as it is in Campbell's V8, the life giving nutritious enzymes are destroyed.
Our body benefits most from raw food in its natural state, uncooked, unprocessed and not in a package. As a general rule it is best to avoid any food that is packaged. We realize it is nearly impossible to avoid any packaged food, the more you do, the healthier and more nutritious your diet will be.
So, the next time you think you could have had a V8, get out your Champion Juicer and make yourself a fresh glass of carrot, apple, celery, beet juice. You'll be glad you did.
