Smoothies are a popular and fun way to have a nutritious snack, dessert or meal on the run. They are quick and easy to make too! And they are even easier to make now that we have a new Vita Mix in our home. Strawberry smoothies are very popular and here in Florida we get plenty of great strawberries from December through May so we can have lots of smoothies. The strawberry smoothie recipe below is a "Jean and Alan" original. If your strawberries are tart, you may want to add the optional honey or dates. This will bring out the strawberry flavor. Also the riper your bananas are, the sweeter your smoothie will be. What ever you do, don’t forget our secret ingredient (which we have revealed below).
Strawberry Smoothie Recipe
Preparation time: 10 minutes Makes four 6-8 oz servings 2 cups strawberries (the riper the better) Place all ingredients in your blender and puree until smooth. Taste and adjust for sweetness. Pour into glasses and enjoy! One more word about the Vita Mix blender for making your smoothies. We went through 3 blenders before we purchased a Vita Mix and probably paid for half of the cost of the new blender in inferior blenders. Do yourself a favor and get the most powerful blender available, get a Vita Mix. You will know you made the right decision when you make your forst smoothie.
