South Beach Diet Review

South Beach Diet Review
South Beach Diet Review - The South Beach diet started as a book that instantly became a success and turned into an entire diet program complete with special meals and cookbooks that you can buy. The diet is the brainchild of Dr. Arthur Agatston, who is a cardiologist and associate professor of medicine at the University Of Miami Miller School Of Medicine. He has written more than 100 abstracts and articles for publications of all kinds, and the best-selling book that this diet is based on.

Dr. Agatston success in medicine led to tests being named after him, but he was not aiming for instant success in the world of writing or diet programs. He simply wanted a way to help his overweight patients get things under control so that their heart problems would get better.

That is how the South Beach diet was born. He developed a balanced approach in this diet and published his first non-academic work, which were followed by many more South Beach related books and cookbooks from 2004 to 2008. The diet itself is rather simple, and consists of three basic phases. These phases are designed for anyone, not just cardiovascular patients or those who are overweight with heart problems. In fact, this diet has become quite a success in the mainstream world of diet programs and trends.

South Beach Diet Review Phases

Phase one of the South Beach Diet lasts just two weeks. The goal is to eliminate cravings and jumpstart your weight loss so that you can get back on the track to success. The goal is to eat a lot of fiber, protein, vegetables, and fruits, getting your body into craving good stuff, not bad.

Phase two is designed to be the long-term part of the plan. It’s a perfect starting point for those who want to lose 10 pounds or less, or those who don’t have cravings, excess belly fat, or those who want to improve their health. Phase three, the final phase, is the maintenance stage. This is where you maintain everything that you’ve learned and continue to make smart food choices throughout the duration of your life because of what you learned during phases one and two.

The final stage of the South Beach Diet re-introduces you to all the real foods out there in the world, and helps you to learn how to live in the real world again. This diet plan has been effective for many people, and since there are frozen meals available in local grocery stores, anyone can follow the plan regardless of their cooking or grocery shopping skills.

As always though we recommend the best kind of diet is one with lots of fresh fruits and vegetables because usually anything frozen or packaged is less nutritious. If you are looking for weight loss program check out or review of a couple of vegetarian weight loss programs.
