Already the mom of six children all under the age of eight, she had always been able to regain her pre-pregnancy figure easily. This time though, it was not as easy. She realized that with the additional children, even the cardio workout she got chasing them around on a daily basis would not be enough.
To get back into her size two jeans, she was going to have to work at it this time. She joined a gym to help her with this. Realizing that she probably doesn't need the extra cardio, she spends 90 minutes, three nights a week concentrating on strength training. To fit the workouts into her schedule, she puts the kids to bed and when the nanny arrives, heads to the gym at midnight. Crunches, tricep kickbacks, and lunges are just a few of the free-weight exercises she uses to reduce her weight and get in shape. In addition to her strength training, a healthy diet is also contributing to her weight loss. The Nadya Suleman diet consists of five high-protein meals and snacks a day. Turkey, sushi, eggs and low fat cheese are her staples. Whole grains such as oatmeal, several portions of vegetables, plus salads and stews round out her diet. Her favorite snacks include frozen yogurt and cottage cheese with fruit. At the end of her pregnancy, Suleman 5’7’ weighed 270 pounds. Although her gym workout consists primarily of exercises using 12-pound weights, she also practices yoga. She has been seen in the park near her home practicing various positions. Considering that she only gets three to four hours of sleep a night, she seems to have plenty of energy. In part, the foods in her Nadya Suleman diet may be helping. The whole grains and protein combined with the low fat dairy provide the nutrients necessary to keep up with fourteen growing children. The lean muscle gained from her thrice weekly trips to the gym help increase energy levels while boosting metabolism. Yoga offers toning and resistance. It is not only a good part of a solid fitness regimen but it also helps reduce stress levels. And obviously stress can negatively impact many areas of our lives, from our weight to our own sense of well-being. While the Nadya Suleman diet is not one we would recommend here at ezHealthyDiet.com because of her big reliance on animal protein and other animal products, she never the less quite remarkably lost a lot of weight after having 8 babies. This is something that some mothers, even after having a single baby, have trouble doing. While some might consider Nadya not too bright for having that many little ones, from what we’ve seen, she seems to manage her life pretty well.
