The Living Air purifier or Living Air Classic from EcoQuest International has been on the market for nearly 20 years now. It was the main top of the line product for EcoQuest for most of that time.
It is claimed that the Classic will clean the air in your home up to 3000 sq ft. The company literature states that this unit will eliminate smoke, odors, dust, dust mites pollen and other large particulate. The literature also states that the unit can reduce mold mildew and bacteria.
There are many people who truly love these machines and there are people who don't like them at all. Some people are not comfortable with the smell of ozone that the unit emits and there is a lot of bad publicity about ozone making people think that ozone is always dangerous.
This simply isn't true. Ozone is a naturally occurring part of the atmosphere that is in increased concentrations after a thunderstorm. If it were harmful coming out of an air purifier, it would be harmful after a thunderstorm, and it is not. The best thing to do if you are not comfortable with the smell coming out of a Living Air Classic is to turn it down. It's as simple as that.
My personal opinion of the Living Air Classic is that it doesn't do that good of a job getting rid of dust but it does a fantastic job of getting rid of odors and leaving your home smelling fresh. The nice thing about EcoQuest's air purifiers are that you can try them out for a few days to see if you like them before you buy one.
The Classic has since been replaced by the Fresh Air as EcoQuest's newest top of the line model. The Fresh Air is a great looking unit that does take care of the dust problem a little better than the Classic. I would recommend getting a Fresh Air over a Living Air Classic.
These are the same units you may have heard about being used in the Pentagon and being advertised by Dr Laura Schlessinger on her radio program.
