Well for those of you who prefer vegan recipes or who don’t want to chance salmonella poisoning, give this homemade mayonnaise recipe a try. I was skeptical when I first made it, but was very pleasantly surprised by the end result. In fact I had tried another vegan mayonnaise recipe made from tofu. It was adequate, but the texture was a bit off from that of real mayonnaise. What surprised me about this recipe was the texture and the taste very closely match that of real mayonnaise...even Alan liked it. By making your own vegan mayonnaise recipe you can avoid not only the saturated fat that is in regular mayonnaise, but you can also avoid any excitotoxins hidden in the "natural flavors" found in commercial mayonnaises. I encourage you to give this recipe a try. It goes great with our 100% vegan tuna salad recipe.
