Marinara sauce is traditionally a quick and easy (known as sailor style - alla marinara - in Italian) meatless tomato based sauce for pasta. This marinara sauce is even quicker than traditional recipes because it eliminates the cooking. This marinara sauce is thick and creamy and bursting with flavor because it is not cooked and it uses all fresh, living ingredients.
Homemade Marinara Sauce Recipe (Makes 4-6 servings) 3 medium size plum tomatoes coarsely chopped 2 tablespoons sweet onion 1/8 teaspoon herbemare 1 clove garlic minced 1/8 cup loosely packed fresh basil 2 pitted medjool dates (soaked for 1 hour and drained) 1/8 cup tomato soaking liquid Place all ingredients except the tomato soaking water in your food processor with the S blade in place. Blend until all ingredients are thoroughly incorporated. If the marinara sauce is too thick add some of the tomato soaking liquid. So you see, learning how to make marinara sauce is as simple as 1-2-3. You can make this recipe in 10 minutes or less. Serve this homemade marinara sauce over freshly made vegetable pasta. To your good health!
