Healthy living is much more than eating a healthy diet. It would certainly include things like breathing healthy air, getting plenty of exercise, and keeping your mind alert and active.
If you want to live healthy in today's world you need to protect yourself from many things in the environment and preservatives and additives in our food supply.
Everyday we are bombarded by all sorts of chemicals in the environment, toxic ingredients in our food and are under so much time pressure from the demands of work and life in general that we hardly have time to exercise and eat right.
But if you want to stay healthy, you must find the time to get on a regular exercise schedule, eat the proper foods rich in nutrients and protect yourself and family from pollution and environmental toxins.
You won't hear however, that this is the way to health from the major media, most diet books, the food industry or even your doctor. The answer you will hear from most of these sources is to just take another pill and then take another pill for the side effects of the first pill you took and so on.
The food industry is no help either. Their idea of eating healthy is changing the packaging on their processed food, that is in reality a chemistry set, and calling it healthy.
There are five basic steps you can take to live a healthier lifestyle. They are:
- Eat fresh, raw fruits and vegetable as often as you can. This would include juicing vegetables to get them in their most nutritious form.
- Exercise on a regular basis (5 to 6 days a week) for at least 30 minutes at a time.
- Clean up your indoor air by getting an electronic air cleaner or filter for your home.
- Make sure your water supply is safe by getting a water purifier for your home.
- Get plenty of sunshine. At least a minum of 20 minutes a day.
Healthy living does take a little effort but the rewards are a much better life for you and your family.
