Healthy Diet Shakes - Tropical Friut Smoothie

Healthy diet shakes are one of the easiest and most nutritious meals or snacks you can make. They are easy and fun because you can use your own creativity by varying all your favorite fruits or use what ever you have on hand.

Additionally, you can make them with ice or without for more of a pudding or mousse texture.

Here’s my favorite recipe…

I call it Tropical Fruit Smoothie…

I make it for my husband Alan and me so it is enough to serve two people.

You can use a food processor with an S blade (when I use my food processor I don’t use ice and I call it Tropical Fruit Pudding – see recipe below)

Or, you can use a blender with very good ice crushing capability.

Ingredients

3 very ripe bananas
2 Medium Kiwi’s peeled
5 roasted or soaked almonds
10-20 raisins
1 tablespoon flax seed oil
1 cup ice
¼ cup water

Place the ice in your blender first, then layer the fruit in the blender jar, add water and blend away! Pour and enjoy!

For variety you can make Tropical Fruit Pudding instead. This recipe makes a really lovely and healthy dessert you can feel good about serving your family and friends.

With the S blade in, place all ingredients (except ice) plus 1 tablespoon freshly ground fax seed in your food processor and puree. Pour into small parfait glasses or sturdy red wine glasses for a nice presentation. For a more “ice cream like” dessert put the filled glasses in the freezer for 1 hour before serving. Otherwise, you can store the pudding in your refrigerator for up to 2 hours before serving.
