Electronic Air Cleaners For Your Home Or Office

electronic air cleaners
Electronic air cleaners are a great way to make the air in your home or office much cleaner and safer to breathe. However, there are several different models available that vary in price and performance.

Indoor air quality is a big issue today and according to the Battelle Institute's article on Healthy Home Trends by the year 2010, air quality is the #1 leading home trend people are concerned about today.

Are you concerned about your indoor air quality?

If you have an odor or other air quality problem in your home you obviously need cleaner air. Many devices and products are being sold today that do nothing but cover up the problems in your home.

What you don't need is one of those cheesy candles or plug-in devices that do nothing but change the smell of your air by putting more chemicals in it. What you need is an electronic air cleaner.

Electronic air cleaners come in several different models that vary in price and quality to quite a large degree. There are whole house models that cover up to 3000 sq ft like the units from EcoQuest International. These units are purifiers and use ozone as one of the technologies to clean the air. Some people are uncomfortable with the smell of ozone and don't care for it in their home. For those that do like the smell that these units produce, they do a great job of cleaning your air.

The units from EcoQuest International only remove particles from your breathable air but don't remove it from your environment entirely. Particle settle to the floor and surfaces but can be stirred up again if there is much movement in the house. To completely remove particles from your indoor environment, you will need a filter based system.

Filter based systems are usually less expensive than purifier based systems but do require more ongoing maintenance and regular filter changes.

High-efficiency particulate air (or HEPA) filters are the most effective filters available for removing particulate matter. There are many filters on the market today that claim to be HEPA filters but are not. To qualify as a HEPA filter a device must be able to capture 90% of all particles 3 microns and larger that move through.
