Acai Berry Scam - I'm sure you've read about the magnificent acai berry and its antioxidant properties. You've probably also seen many different acai berry products for sale, or for a free trial, on the web with fantastic claims of weight loss, cleansing, energy enhancing and other such benefits. What you may not know is that many of these products are complete scams and can cost you an arm and a leg in the long run.
Some of the supplements you may have heard of go by names such as Acai Berry Power 500, Acai Berry Cleanse, Acai Berry Boost, Acai Ultra Burn, South Beach Acai, Acai Berry Supreme, Acai Berry Extreme, Vital Acai or something else with the word acai in it and with either Rachael Ray's or Oprah's picture on the sales page. It seems like there's a new product with acai in it coming out every other week or so. I'm beginning to think there's a huge factory somewhere producing bottles of this stuff just slapping on different labels every time someone comes up with a new name for these diet supplements.
While there may be some good properties of the superfood acai that help promote energy, wellness and other health benefits they aren't weight loss or diet aids and they aren't colon cleansers. And where the scam comes in with these products is in the price. And if you aren't careful, you could see huge charges stack up on your credit card before you even know what's happened to you. What you need to know and what most people don't look at is the Terms Of Service link usually hidden at the bottom of the page.
What this terms link then states is that your supposed 14 or 15 day free trial begins the moment you order it, not when you actually receive your product. And then you read a little further and see that since you've given them your credit card, you will be billed anywhere from $49 per month up to $89 per month. And in fact I've even seen one of these scams where the terms of service page states you will be billed, but doesn't even tell you how much. I guess you just have to wait until you get your next credit card statement to find out.
And then to top it off, the companies that sell this stuff then make it near impossible to cancel your monthly shipment because either no one answers the phone when you call the toll free number you're given or your emails never get a response.

It is also important to note that neither Rachael Ray or Oprah Winfrey have endorsed any acai berry product. They have simply heard of and had shows about the berry itself and not any particular product. Remember, they do not endorse any of these products that are offered through a free trial even though they many have their pictures on them. None of thes companies are authorized to use Rachael Ray's or Oprah's picture in their advertising.
If you want to take acai berry supplements and see for yourself if they work, your best bet is to go to your local natural foods store or supplements store and find the kind of vitamin or acai berry juice drink you're looking for and see if it does anything for you. And then make a decision if you want to keep on buying it.
You can also get a variety of acai berry supplements on eBay and sometimes you can even find the same supplements offered with these supposed free trials for sale on eBay as well. They're probably being sold by people who got shipped several bottle of supplements before they realized they were getting charged $89.95 per month.
Be careful if you buy or sign up for a free trial of acai berry supplements on the web, you may be getting more than you bargained for, like high credit card charges. Don't fall for the acai berry scam!
